What we have in the works!

Overview

We want to create a co-op fiber mill that will service Georgia area cottage industry growers, small to medium flock farms, hand spinners, and textile students. Our plan is to create a co-operative mill that would allow growers, artists, and students to become part of their local textile economy.

Goals

  1. Purchase mini mill equipment.

  2. Set up the mill equipment in a space that would be accessible in a CSA style system.

  3. Work with local textile and fashion students to increase awareness of the farm to fiber process by creating a Learning Center.

  4. Use our waste products to create green alternative products for sewing, landscaping, and more.

  5. Create an apprenticeship program that will train a new generation on the milling process and work to revive the wool manufacturing industry in the Southeast United States.

  6. Work with existing organizations to expand farmer education of animal husbandry best practices.

Help us Yarn Bomb the column out front of the shop!

Bring in knit or crocheted patches for us to assemble to cover the column outside our door and help us yarnify our space.

We accept donations of yarn and fabric.

We support the Druid Hills High Fiber Arts Club, the Dekalb School of the Arts Fiber Club, and the Give Center West.

We also donate to elder care facilities and rehab centers.

Your dollars do good!

We regularly donate to local orgs that support and center Black, Brown, Indigenous & Marginalized Peoples. We are striving to find ways to lower the cost of our classes to promote equity to access.
